From Ambition to Action in Transportation
September 12 • 2–5:30 p.m.

Description
Increased ambition in energy and transportation is essential to achieving climate goals. Recent research provides insights into the viability of different levels of climate ambition and the lowest-cost, highest-benefit paths forward. The session will address possible transportation-related targets in climate policy, such as:
- A very low GHG target (such as net carbon neutrality) by 2050;
- A very high renewables target post 2030;
- “Clean vehicle” targets (such as percentage zero-emission vehicle sales) by 2030
The session will compare situations and strategies in California, other US states and Germany, and will highlight findings from the "De-Ca-rbonize Transport" conference in Berlin and the "3rd California Climate Policy Modeling" forum in Davis, both undertaken earlier this year. It will include leaders from California, other US states and Germany engaged in similar research and policy making.
