About our materials
The UC Davis Policy Institute for Energy, Environment, and the Economy (Policy Institute) works with experts across campus to produce policy-ready content on a range of topics. Our materials help bridge the gap between policy and research by summarizing current knowledge and new findings in a concise form that is directly useful for decision-makers. Our content is read and cited by policymakers at the local, regional, state, federal, and international levels.
If you are a researcher at UC Davis engaged in issues related to energy, the environment, and/or the economy, we encourage you to reach out to us to explore options for translating your findings into a policy brief, issue paper, or other type of policy-ready content. Our materials are designed to increase the impact of your work and are an effective way to bring more “eyes” and interest back to your original research. We rely on these documents in email newsletters to stakeholders, legislative and congressional briefings, and other on- and off-campus events.
In addition, creating these documents and materials is an excellent opportunity for professional development. Policy Institute staff can help you improve your ability to communicate your research to non-academic audiences in a way that is both clear and credible. Repackaging your work into policy-ready content will also bolster your outreach credentials in the eyes of potential employers and grant award committees.
If you are interested in working with us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a short description of yourself, your research, and the topic you would like to focus on.
The Policy Institute welcomes topic suggestions for future policy briefs, issue papers, presentations, and webinars, as well as feedback on our existing materials. Please send us your input at email@example.com.
